Ryton Oldham was born circa 1831 in Stretton-on-Dunsmore, England.1 
He married Mary Campbell, daughter of John Campbell and Catherine MacCallum, on 10 September 1858 in St Kilda, Victoria.1 
He died on 2 February 1895 in West Devonport, Tasmania.2
