Rupert George Steer was born n Echuca East on 7 September 1899. He was the eldest child of Alice, though the father is not listed. Alice was nineteen at the time.

The informant was CA McBride, friend, Echuca East.1
 
Rupert George Steer acute aortitis and heart failure at the Children's hospital in Carlton on 15 May 1908, aged 8. He was buried at Melbourne General cemetery on 16 May.

The informant was Christlina Annie McBride, 163 Station St, Carlton, the same as for the birth in Echuca East.2
 
There is no known contact between Rupert and Alice following the birth, and none of her children had heard of Rupert.3
