On the 1863 birth registration for Lucy's son, John, the 'nurse by whom certified' is given as 'Catherine Campbelle'. While it could be Lucy's 19 year old sister or someone unrelated, perhaps Lucy's mother was there to help with the birth of her daughter's first child.2
