Albert Watson Steer was born on 4 September 1877 in South Australia.1 
He married Agnes Hilda Ploenges in 1901 in South Australia.2 
He died on 4 December 1923 in Fitzroy South, Victoria, at age 46.3,4

Story

Some time after they married, Albert and Agnes lived in Balwyn in Melbourne. Albert was a grocer's assistant.4
 
Albert Watson Steer enlisted in the Australian Military Forces on 14 April 1917, aged 39. His service number was 39010. He was in the 8th Australian Field Artillery Brigade, where he was initially a gunner. He was later a driver.

His address at the time was 15 Moorehouse Street, Camberwell. As next of kin he gave wife Agnes, then residing at 51 O'Grady Street, Albert Park.



He embarked on SS Indarra in Melbourne on 26 November 1917.

Albert wrote a will in November 1923. He left everything to Agnes.

As executors, he nominated Equity Trustees Executors and Agency Company Limited.

When he wrote the will, they lived at 421 Whitehorse Rd, Balwyn, Melbourne.4
 
Albert Watson Steer died at St Vincent's hospital in Fitzroy, Melbourne on 4 December 1923. This was twelve days after he wrote his will.

In September 1924, probate was granted to Equity Trustees Executors and Agency Company Limited and all of Albert's estate was distributed to Agnes as per the will.4
