Pauline Jean was probably born in Preston on 19 December 1924. She was the oldest child of Doris 'Nene' and Kenneth.

The birth uncertainty is due to conflicting evidence. Pauline said she was born in Northcote in 1924. Her mother said she was born in Melbourne but not Northcote/Westgarth. Her daughter Pam had said she was born in 1925. The Pine Lodge cemetery has 19 December 1924.^1,4,3,5

Pauline moved from Melbourne to Mooroopna in the early 1940s.⁴

Pauline was a hairdresser and dressmaker; she made most of her own clothes including her wedding dress.^3,2

Marriage and Family
Pauline Jean Stuart and 'Stanley Alfred' Leskie were married in Mooroopna on 28 December 1946. They had two children.

On the marriage registration, Stan is 'Stanley Alfred', but according to Pauline, and on his death registration, he is 'Frederick Alfred'.^6,4

The couple lived with Pauline's parents in Alexander St. After Pauline's father died, her mother moved to a smaller place in Alexander St, and Pauline bought her parents' place.^2,4

Hairdressing
Pauline opened her hairdressing business, 'Pauline Salon', at 24 Main St Mooroopna. The property was owned by Hugh Sylvester Brauman of Shepparton, a hairdresser. By 1959 it was owned by the Perri family.⁷

In 1949, she advertised for someone to run the business, first in the local paper, then in a Melbourne paper. This was while she had her second child.

Frederick Alfred 'Stan' Leskie died in Mooroopna on 27 September 1977, aged 52.^10,4,11

Marriage of Pauline and Mick
Pauline Leskie and Henry Michael 'Mick' Wilson were married in 1983. Mick died in 1985.⁴

Pauline Jean Wilson died on 25 November 2006, aged 80. She was buried at Pine Lodge cemetery in Shepparton East on 29 November. She was buried with Stan.^5,10
