| Allan Phillips was born in Swan Hill on 9 January 1923. He was the second child of Ruby and Larry. He has been known as both Allan George Phillips and Allan Thomas Phillips.1,3,2 |
| Military Service Allan George Phillips enlisted in the Australian Military Forces in Swan Hill on 25 November 1941, aged 18. His army number was VX107443. He served with 2/28th Australian Infantry Battalion. As next of kin, he gave his sister-in-law, Jean Phillips, possibly because he didn't have a partner at the time. He was discharged on 8 February 1946.4 |

| It is reported that Allan and a local girl had one or two children while in Lake Boga, though we have no names, or records with any details.5 |
| Involved in the local community, Allan was a foundation member of the Lake Boga fire brigade.3 |
| Marriage and Family Marjorie Honor Barugh and Allan George Phillips were married in Melbourne, possibly near Oakleigh in 1960. They had no children together.6,2 |
| By the time Allan moved to Melbourne to live, he was a grocer and a drinker. He lived with his adopted family in South Oakleigh. Marjorie Barugh already had two children when she and Allan married. When 12 months later Marjorie died following a brain haemorrhage, Allan brought up the two teenage children as his own.3,5 |
| Allan George Phillips died in Portland on 27 September 2003, aged 80. He was buried at Warrnambool cemetery.7
